NEUROMAP RESOURCE

Learning support in Costa del Sol international schools: a parent guide

International-school families may encounter different terminology and processes depending on the curriculum and school system.

Educational resource • NeuroMap Systems

Common terminology

British-style schools may use SEN, SEND, SENCO or ALN terminology. Other international schools may use learning support, student support, guidance, counselling or inclusion teams.

Why outside assessment may be requested

A school may suggest further assessment when classroom evidence does not fully explain the learner’s progress, when specific access needs need clarifying, or when parents and teachers need a shared understanding of the profile.

What an outside report needs to do

The most useful report is not simply a list of test scores. It should help explain how the evidence connects to curriculum access, independence, support and the learner’s normal way of working.

NeuroMap Systems is independent. Any schools mentioned in educational resources are referenced only in relation to publicly available information and no affiliation or endorsement is implied unless explicitly stated.
