How to Review Whether Educational Support Is Working

A recommendation becomes more useful when the team agrees what success would look like and when to review it.

Written / reviewed by Liat Soresman · Educational Profiling and Neurodevelopmental Learning Specialist

Start with a baseline

Record the current situation before making a major change where practical.

Choose an observable indicator

Examples include number of prompts, task completion, accuracy or the learner’s own report of effort.

Review after an agreed period

Support should not remain indefinitely simply because it once appeared in a report.

Continue, change or stop

Review is about refining support, not proving that every initial idea was correct.
